About us
Hello fellow dive enthusiasts! My name is Steve Brady and I am located in Cairns, Tropical North Queensland, Australia! For the past 12 years I have worked in the Tourism Industry with a focus on recreational diving and more so of late dive education.
I am presently employed by Pro Dive Cairns where for the past 8 years I have primarily been responsible for marketing our destination for Diving on the Great Barrier Reef with and more specifically “Learning to Scuba Dive (Dive Education) and Liveaboard Dive Trips. I received my Open Water certification in 1998 and then in 2002 completed my PADI Advance and then Rescue Course with Pro Dive Cairns.
I am now currently working my way through my PADI Dive Master Course (nearly there). Most of my diving experience takes in a lot of the East Coast of Australia with the exception of completing a few dives in Perth, Western Australia, Guam and Koh Tao in Thailand. All up I have over 350 dives to my name and I certainly enjoy my job in promoting Dive Education and Liveaboard Dive Trips here in Cairns to the rest of world.
Dive in blog will provide up to date information on the Scuba Diving in Cairns and surrounding regions, learning to scuba dive for the first time, personal trip reviews and advice on Marketing within the Queensland Dive Industry. This is something I am doing on my own but still in conjunction with my position at Pro Dive Cairns. I want to share with you my personal scuba diving experiences. I have been fortunate enough to have dived on a number of occasions the famous Cod Hole/Ribbon Reefs, Coral Sea, and many of the dive sites out of Port Douglas and Cairns on the Outer Great Barrier Reef and some of Australia’s most popular dive sites like the Yongala SS Ship Wreck to diving in Byron Bay. Having now worked in the Queensland Dive (Tourism) Industry for over 10 years I have a reasonable knowledge of marketing all levels of Dive Education and of the Queensland Dive/Tourism Industry.
I hope you enjoy reading my blogs on my diving experiences, articles, videos and images. It is my goal to create a platform for beginners to ask questions about scuba diving and give the more experienced divers access to some of our great dive sites, and dive operators here in Australia. Safe Diving!
